The caller leaves a message and it reaches you
A missed call is lost work unless the caller can leave a message. YellowTradie turns that message into a lead in your app sorted by what the job is and how urgent it sounds. You see who rang, what they want, and you tap Call back.
This part is not built yet. The design is settled and the page says so plainly. You will know when it opens because the app will tell you there and this page will change.
What it does
The phone you advertise never changes. When you cannot answer, the call slides to a number the app owns and the caller hears your own voice asking for a message. They speak, they hang up, and a minute later the enquiry is in your Leads.
The app writes the message out. It decides if it is a real enquiry, how urgent it is, what trade it fits, and one line saying what the job is. That is what you see in the list with the number that rang and the time.
If the caller hangs up without leaving a word, they get a short text back in your words to say you will ring them. You choose the text and you can turn it off.
Who it is for
It is for the trader who misses calls because he is on a ladder, under a floor, or driving between jobs. One person and one phone, with no receptionist.
It is not a second phone number to hand out. It is the safety net behind the number you already advertise.
How it works
- You get a number on the app's account and record your greeting in your own voice.
- You write the text back words in one box and choose if texting is on or off.
- The app shows a forwarding code. You type it once on your phone and press call. You do not touch your phone's settings again.
- A customer rings your normal number. If you do not answer, the call goes to the app's number and they hear your greeting.
- They leave a message. The app writes it out, sorts it, and puts it in Leads and on Today with a Call back button.
- You call back. If they left nothing the text has already gone and the card says so.
You can turn the whole thing off with a second code. Calls then go to your own voicemail and nothing reaches the app.
Why a tradesman needs this
A missed call at lunchtime is often a job gone by evening. If the caller reaches a generic voicemail and no one calls back quickly, they ring the next trader.
A written message you can read on site is faster than a voicemail you have to play back in a noisy van. The sorted line tells you if it is a leak, a quote, or a wrong number, so you know who to ring first.
What it does not do
- It never answers the phone. No robot answers the call. The caller hears your recorded greeting and leaves a message, or they hang up.
- It does not promise when you will ring back. Your greeting and the text say you will ring when you can, not in five minutes.
- It does not keep the recording. The words are written out and the audio is deleted.
- It does not invent a lead. If the words are not a real enquiry it is marked as such and you still see it.
- It does not take a booking. It takes a message and puts it in front of you to act on.
Not built yet
This feature is parked. The app does not take missed calls today. Nothing is charged for it and no number is claimed. The work that is done is the design and the inbox that will hold the leads.
When it opens, the app will show a line on Today and in Settings, and this page will say it is live and how to switch it on. Join the list and we will tell you the day it does. You will get it in the app and by email. There is no date to put here until then.
Questions
Does the app answer my phone?
No. The app never answers the phone. The caller hears your own recorded greeting and leaves a message. If they hang up without speaking, they get your text back instead.
Will customers notice a different number?
No. They ring the number you advertise. The forwarding only happens when you do not answer. They hear your voice on the greeting.
What if I am busy for an hour?
The missed call waits for you. It sits at the top of Today with a Call back button. If it is still uncalled after half an hour, the card says so.
Do you keep the recording?
No. The recording is written out and then deleted. Only the written words and the caller's number reach your phone.
What does it cost?
The plan is a fixed monthly amount with a set number of voicemails and texts included. At the cap the texts stop and the messages still reach you. The price is not set today because the feature is not live, and this page will carry it when it is.
When will I know it is ready?
The app will tell you, and this page will change to say it is live. Join the list and you will get an email the day it opens. Nothing is charged until then.
