How we write and check these pages
YellowTradie publishes pages about the work a solo tradesperson does and about the app that helps with it. This page says how those pages are written, where the facts come from, and how to get one corrected.
Last reviewed 24 October 2026.
Who writes the pages
YellowTradie is the trading name of a sole trader based in Wales. Pages are drafted with software and checked by the owner before they go live. One person is responsible for every word.
What we publish
A page goes on this site only when it answers a question a tradesperson actually asks. We do not publish a page to fill a gap in a menu. We do not publish a page about a feature the app does not have.
Every page is written for one reader: a trader working alone, on site, with a phone in one hand. If a sentence needs a second read, it is rewritten.
Where the facts come from
Every figure comes from one of two places. It is read on gov.uk or HMRC on the date shown on the page, or it is read from our own records, which means the app's code or the running app.
If we cannot trace a figure to one of those, the figure does not go on the page. We would rather leave a gap than fill it with a guess.
We do not take a figure from another app's website. We do not take a sentence from one either. A fact is not owned by anybody, but the words around it are, and ours are written here.
How we check a page
Four checks run before a page can go live:
- The page is read against the app. Every feature it names is one the app has.
- Every external link is opened. A source that does not answer is removed or replaced.
- Every sentence is compared by machine with a stored set of sentences from one competitor's public pages. A shared sentence fails the page.
- A person reads the page once more for plain English and for claims the app cannot keep.
Dates and reviews
Every page carries the date it was last checked. We check a page again when the law or the app changes. We also check it when one of its sources changes. If none of those happens, we check it once a year.
If we get something wrong
If your question is about the app rather than a page, the FAQ may answer it. Email support@yellowtradie.com with the page address and the sentence. Tell us what is wrong and, if you can, where the right answer is. We will check it and correct the page. Its date changes when we do. If a claim cannot be supported, we take it off the page.
What we will not do
We will not invent a customer or a review. We will not invent a count. We have no customers yet, so there are no stories to tell and no numbers to quote. We will not call a feature live while it is still being built. We will not use another app's words.
